assist the organization to become fully independent from the Richmond Hill Minor

If you have not already sent in your application, please complete the application and email it or drop it in a NobleKing mailbox at one of the arenas to the attention of the Coach Coordinator as soon as possible.

Please note that the OMHA is requesting that rosters be completed and approved in August so any training you require should be completed during the summer months. Please visit the OMHA website to find course dates as follows:
Speak Out (PRS) This is required for all rostered team officials (NobleKing will be offering a Speak Out (PRS) clinic on Friday, Sept. 5)
Coaching (NobleKing will be offering a Coach Development 1 clinic the weekend of Sept. 6/7)

Note to parents - players must skate with their assigned team and they will be contacted by their head coach to confirm initial practice times in September.
Registration Questions

If you click here you will see the 'template' or standard ice schedule we are using this year (revised 10 Sep 08). This schedule shows you planned home game slots and weekly practice slots for each division. This is of course subject to change and week to week is always adjusted based upon the results of game scheduling meetings. This schedule only applies during the regular season. Note for Tyke and IP, games do not start immediately with Tyke LL games beginning in December. Until games start, Tyke LL teams will have an extra shared ice practice in one of the game slots. IP fun games will start after the Christmas break. All registered players will be contacted by email shortly to inform you of your first practice times in September.
Major Novice - Affiliated Player Try Out Open Skate, King City, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday Sept. 6
All registered and paid local league Novice players are invited to attend.NobleKing is hosting two valuable courses at the beginning of the hockey season. PRS - Prevention Services Programs (Speak Out!) and Coach Development 1 at the King City Community Centre.
PRS is mandatory for all rostered personnel and highly recommended for everyone including parents of minor hockey players. Before we make the courses 'public' NobleKing residents will be given first chance at reserving a spot in both programs AND all rostered personnel will be reimbursed for 50% of the course cost should they choose to request it. We expect both courses will fill up quickly once they go public on the OMHA website in late July so please use email link below to reserve your spot. We will email and confirm your attendance 2 weeks before the course dates.
PRS - Prevention Services Programs (Speak Out!) now on Monday, Sept. 8, 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Cost is $20.
Coach Development 1, Saturday Sept. 6 and Sunday Sept. 7 with exact times to be confirmed via email (expect 8:00 to 5:00) Also note that the Coach 1 clinic now includes PRS. Cost is $150.

Registration Update
Local League players needed at Tyke, Atom, Peewee, Bantam and Minor Midget.
If numbers allow, we'll add a second team at Novice too so get on the waiting
list! Local League teams are capped at 14 for this season.

information via the online system.
Ice Schedule for this coming season Please be advised that the ice schedule for the coming season will not be available until late August. In Local League, what you can expect is (on average) one home ice practice and one home ice game per week for Novice to Midget with regular shared ice practices for all players from IP to Atom. Local League games start around Thanksgiving (except for Tyke which is later). Rep teams can expect a regular full ice practice and on average one home game per week with the season starting possibly as early as Sept. 8.

Interested in Bantam Rostered Select / AE? We will be running a tryout in King City at 8:00 p.m. on Aug. 25 for those players who are interested in playing on a possible Bantam Rostered Select or AE team instead of in Local League. The team is open to both Major and Minor Bantam aged-players and the cost to skate will be $15 per player, payable at the door. Once we know our final registration numbers and the results of this try-out skate, the Executive will make a decision on how best to accommodate these players at the Bantam level. Initiation Program
Director Needed! (POSITION FILLED) We are looking for
an individual who will lead the Initiation Program this season.
The person will be responsible for coordinating the entire IP
program and to follow the IP Program guidelines as outlined by the
OMHA. We are also hoping to schedule an IP Festival in
NobleKing this year, and the IP Program Director would be
responsible for organizing this event along with resources from the
OMHA. If you are interested, please email

On Site Registration - one day
only - Thursday, Jul. 31
The Registrar will be on site at the King City arena from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
to assist anyone who wishes to do a last minute, in person registration.
As this is the last day to register before late fees kick in, please make sure
you bring cash or cheques with you to the arena.
Registration for the 2008 / 2009 Season opened on 27 May 2008. Click the Registration Info button on the left to read the full information on registration and to begin the online process.
Early Bird Discount Period is from 27 May 2008 until 26 June 2008 - this is one month later than last year (you get to keep your money longer)!
Regular Registration is open until 31 Jul 2008
NobleKing Minor Hockey will be accepting Local League coaching applications until July 15th. Kindly submit your coaching application to the Coach Coordinator (if you haven’t already done so). Local League coaches will be put in place by August 1st. All coaching applications will be reviewed by the Coach Selection Committee and you may be called in for an interview. hockey tournament this Saturday, 31 May at the Nobleton arena. Cost is
only $75 per team (6 players including 1 goalie) and there is still room for a

The Ontario Hockey League conducted the 2008 OHL Priority Selection process
today (3 May 08) and 301 minor midget-aged players were selected today,
including NobleKing's own
Elliott Burlon who was chosen in the 15th round by the Ottawa 67's.
Congratulations Elliott on this great accomplishment!
NobleKing is hosting SPEAK OUT! (PRS) and Coach Development 1 (D-1) courses the weekend of Sept. 5, 6 and 7th. All rostered personnel and any parent who wishes to help with on ice hockey activity are required to complete the SPEAK OUT! (PRS) course. The Coach Development 1 program (2 DAYS / 16 Hours) is highly recommended and in some cases required for persons wishing to coach in the OMHA. Details on what is involved in these courses can be found on the OMHA website. Anyone interested in attending either course should send an email to register to administrator@noblekinghockey.com Please note that OMHA will post these courses for general availability to all later this summer.
Game Jersey Returns - For those teams who missed the jersey return day on March 30, please email Steve Ralph, Equipment Manager, as soon as possible to arrange to drop off your jerseys and bin. There will be a $55 fee added to your registration next season if you do not return your game jersey.
End of Year Team Budgets Summaries due to NobleKing Treasurer This is a reminder that all teams need to submit a summary sheet to the Treasurer outlining team spending for the 2007/2008 season that reconciles all money collected from parents and sponsors and all spending related to the team. NobleKing Rep Tryout Dates and Times Set for 2008/2009 Teams - See the schedule for the dates and times for tryouts for the 2008/2009 NobleKing Rep Teams. Proof of residency is required to tryout and a $15 / tryout skate fee will be payable by each player wishing to attend. There are three times allocated per team and we plan on adding an additional skate as needed for teams in mid-August to finalize rosters.
NobleKing Email Addresses and Websites - A reminder to all coaches and managers that your NobleKing email addresses have been de-activated as of 18-April-08. For teams who have used a NobleKing address for a team website, please ensure that you back up your site as these will be moved to an archive in April to free up the address for next year's team.
Lost and Found - A small NobleKing melton jacket was turned in at the King City arena last season. There is a name sewn onto the front of the jacket so be prepared to identify it for pick up. See Paul or Rick Hampton to claim your lost jacket.

AAA Zone Try Out Schedule Posted - There is a link on the page below to the AAA try out schedule posted on the Richmond Hill Stars website. Anyone wishing to participate in the AAA try outs in Richmond Hill must get a permission to skate form via Will Germinario.
The AAA Zone is changing - There is a new Executive and Organization in place for our AAA Zone teams (formerly the Richmond Hill Stars) and we will hopefully have a NEW TEAM NAME and LOGO in time for this coming season. Contest details for 'name the zone' are available on the link above. Have your say and enter the contest to name the new zone that is now formerly co-managed by Caledon Minor Hockey, NobleKing Minor Hockey and Richmond Hill Minor Hockey.
The NobleKing Minor Midget A team wrapped up their season on
March 27th by winning the York-Simcoe Championship defeating Bradford in
3 straight games. The team posted some impressive statistics for
the season. In regular season play they went 22-2-4 finishing in first
place, accumulating 132 goals for while the goaltending duo of Danton
Brinovec and Chris Martire allowed only 59 goals and had 3 shutouts.
The team went to the finals in the Richard Bell Memorial Tournament in Oakville during the Christmas break, losing 2-1 to a team from Norway in hard fought game The Minor Midgets won their division in the NobleKing tournament with an impressive 4-0-1 record. The only NobleKing team to win a tournament division championship. Over the course of the season the team played a total of 57 games with a record of 43-8-6. They outscored the opposition almost 2:1 with a total of 235 goals for and 126 goals against. The team shutout the opposition 7 times, while never being shutout themselves.
The victory in the York-Simcoe Playoffs to become the 2007-2008 champions ended an extraordinary season for the team lead by Head Coach John Gibb. Thanks to our players, parents and sponsors for their dedication, hard work and support throughout the year.

Game Jersey Returns - This is a reminder to all team coaches and managers that you are required to wash and return your team's NobleKing game jerseys at the end of your season. For most teams, the jersey to return is the 'new style' white jersey however there are a few teams that have been given 'new style' jerseys for both home and away - BOTH jerseys are returned in this case. Schedule for returns on Sunday, March 30 is shown below. Please remember that if you were given a bin with the jerseys at the start of the season, this needs to be returned at the same time. Deposit cheques will not be returned until all jerseys are back with NobleKing.
